LIQUID MANAGEMENT TANK ACCESS LADDER PLATFORM - CASE STUDY
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Safetylyne was engaged to deliver an access system to provide access to machinery and inspection hatches for liquid waste storage tanks for Cleanaway.
The project involved the design, manufacture, installation, and certification of lightweight aluminium access gantry platform.
System was designed to be supported from existing concrete slab and with support members and posts configured to coordinate around piping infrastructure and tank dimensions.
Aluminium material was used for the construction due to the potential exposure to corrosive chemicals. This access system was designed to be erected in larger modules to enable minimal on-site interruption during the construction phase.

Installing the HVAC plant decks, acoustic louvre screens, and roof safety systems during the construction phase of the commercial precinct was a smart and efficient decision.
Early installation allowed the systems to be fully integrated into the building design, avoiding retrofitting works and reducing disruption risks once the site became operational. While it’s possible to install HVAC access systems after a building is completed, planning ahead during construction usually delivers better long-term results - improving cost efficiency, design integration, and ease of future maintenance.
When selecting materials for the project, Safetylyne chose aluminium for its strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight properties - ideal for managing rooftop loads and ensuring long-term durability, particularly in coastal environments. The powder-coated finish on the acoustic louvre screens added further protection while helping reduce visual and noise impact.
The completed solution ensures safe, compliant rooftop access for maintenance teams, supporting ongoing plant servicing without interfering with daily site operations.
